🛸 Ship Overview & Unique Mechanics

The Kruger Intergalactic S-65 Stingray is a standalone light fighter/interceptor scheduled for release in Alpha 4.10. Unlike Kruger's older "snub fighters" (the P-52 Merlin and P-72 Archimedes) which lack quantum drives, the Stingray is a full-fledged, independent ship built on Kruger's modern design philosophy. [1, 2, 3, 4]

  • The Three-State Transformation: The defining feature of the Stingray is its three distinct mechanical forms or operational states. Similar to how the Reliant switches between horizontal and vertical configurations, the Stingray physically alters its profile/wings dynamically to optimize for different modes like atmospheric flight, space cruising, and active combat engagement. [2]
  • Flight Profile: It is designed with a sleek, aerodynamic look featuring prominent side engines and specialized thrusters. It sacrifices heavy armor for extreme speed and agility, serving as a high-skill "glass cannon" interceptor. [2, 5, 6, 7]

⚔️ Weapons & Hardpoints

Kruger Intergalactic utilizes a bespoke/integrated weapon environment. You cannot freely swap out its core weaponry for standard third-party brands. It features a concentrated, front-loaded armament layout: [8]

  • Integrated Nose Weapon: Features a built-in heavy Kruger centerline ballistic or energy repeater, utilizing variants of their high-rate-of-fire Tigerstrike or Relentless ballistic tech. [8, 9]
  • Wing Hardpoints: Houses integrated Size 2 and Size 4 weapon hardpoints embedded within the wing assemblies. These typically utilize custom Kruger energy repeaters—such as the Axiom L-22 Repeater or Quarreler Laser Cannon variations—delivering distinct audio profiles and fire rates. [8, 9]
  • Missile Racks: Built-in internal missile racks capable of holding smaller ordnance packages (Size 1 or Size 2) meant to stagger target shields during high-speed interception passes.

⚙️ Components Layout

Because the S-65 Stingray is a standalone ship rather than a parasite craft, it features a complete suite of Size 1 (Small) components. This puts its internal hardware loop on par with dedicated light fighters like the Anvil Arrow or Aegis Gladius: [1, 4, 9]

  • Quantum Drive (1x S1): Equipped with a small quantum drive for autonomous cross-system jumps, though restricted by the smaller fuel tank limitations standard for modern light fighters.
  • Shield Generator (1x S1): Relies on a single small shield generator pool. It recovers quickly but cannot sustain prolonged exposure to heavy turret fire, meaning players must rely on the ship's transforming states to dodge incoming fire.
  • Power Plant (1x S1) & Coolers (2x S1): Highly optimized to handle the significant energy draw and thermal accumulation generated by Kruger’s custom energy weapons and aggressive thruster matrix. [9]
  • Avionics & Flight Blades: Internal files detail integrated slotting for advanced Kruger Flight Blades (such as the L-21/L-22 PHB, Standard, and TSB variants). These are designed to drastically enhance computerized aiming assists and flight-state management once server-side blade computation is fully active. [9]
